AK STAMPING POLICY on CONFLICT MINERALS

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and some surrounding countries, mining and selling of certain minerals are carried out by armed groups who partake in violence and human rights violations. Tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold mined in this region are known as “conflict minerals”. Unfortunately, some of these minerals can make their way into the supply chain of products we use every day, especially consumer electronics devices.

Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 requires U.S. listed companies to disclose whether any of the four conflict minerals could become a financial source of armed groups, are used in their products, and if so, to disclose, the measures taken to introduce and maintain due diligence on the source and chain of supply of those minerals. In accordance with the Conflict Mineral rule from US-American Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform Act, Sec. 1502 (CMRT 6.22 applicable to RY2022) and/or Cobalt via Responsible Minerals Initiative (EMRT 1.1 applicable to RY2022) has extended to include Cobalt and Mica.

Although AK Stamping Company is not a U.S. listed company under the Dodd-Frank act, we are committed to being responsible corporate citizens and take all measures within our powers to ensure that conflict minerals are not in the products that we manufacture and sell. Furthermore, we wish to support our partners who are listed companies in their quest to remove conflict minerals from their products.

All material suppliers to AK Stamping are required to disclose if the products they supply to us contain conflict minerals. Through this materials sourcing policy, and internal engineering evaluation, AK Stamping is confident that all materials from our suppliers are currently conflict mineral free. If, either through disclosure or discovery, it is determined that supplier(s) are using conflict materials, AKS will: (1) notify our customers who may be impacted (2) work with to bring these suppliers back into compliance with our conflict minerals policy.
